I bought this computer mainly for the relation price-features, de 4GB Ram and the 17 in display works perfectly for the needs I have, lots of software you're never going to use, Norton Antivirus makes this computer slow so much so I instal the AVG Antivirus, the main complain I have is that I expect that the computer is bronze color but when I receive it it was platinum color, please change the picture or especify that is another color

This laptop offers low-end multimedia as well as gaming capabilities for a very competitive price. I purchased it from Amazon 2 weeks ago and I love it. It comes with an HDMI interface and a remote control. You can hook it up to your HD TV and be able to manage your media remotely. The speakers the graphics performance are on the low end, of course you can always hook it up to external speakers and be able to enjoy the music. I would recommend it for anyone who isn't a sophisticated gamer and an average multimedia user.

very displeased with the product I was under the impression the color of the computer was going to be metallic bronze it was just regular black. The sign said the computer is personel again but i couldn't tell with this buyer. The box came all dented up thank god that the laptop was in good condition. I wouldn't suggest anyone to purchase anything from this person without a actual picture.

I purchased this laptop as a desktop replacement for my son who is in college. The integrated 10-key and 17" screen make this more than just a notebook. The ram and processor work beautifully, internet link up is fast and automatic. I had considered wiping Vista and replacing with XP but the performance is so good, and the Vista add-ons made me change my mind. The "speech-to-text" program works fairly well, but of course it has to be trained to your voice. The webcam, mic and speakers are awesome for young people - who needs a phone?! It has an integrated TV tuner and you can connect newer TV's directly to the unit and watch programs in full HD. Even includes a remote. I don't do gaming so cannot speak to it's capabilities there but I told my son if he doesn't like it - I'll be happy to take it! Great value for the money and should hold him for a long time.

This review is for a HP Pavilion dv7-1132nr, which is similar and has the same processor and video card.
The Positives:
The 17 inch bright screen is nothing short of spectacular. It does not have an anti-reflective coating, which is good if you need to see a lot of small text or fine detail, but bad if you are in a reflective environment. If you do large spreadsheets, MSProject etc. this is a good choice; however the contrast ratio (black level) for multimedia use is not that good. The speakers and sound are above average for laptops although lacking in the bass range. This is nice because it comes with the Media Center version of Vista.
This laptop is huge, yet very light, with a full numeric key pad and room for a second hard drive on the inside. A large Touch-pad that is easy to use. Convenient additional controls and indicators are located around the keyboard. A convenient concealed SDHC slot just begs for a Vista ReadyBoost dedicated card to be installed (a 4GB max SD card will greatly improve the operation of Vista). The included 64 bit Vista operating system will access future upgrades of up to 8GB of ram.
The integrated Wi-Fi was able to access neighboring networks. This laptop also includes the following connections:

Now for the negatives:
The construction of the large screen is not very rigid, and the hinges are tight, to the point that one must use two hands to open the lid, lest it flexes to the point of breakage. The battery life is short so I don't even bother to install the battery (why carry the extra weight) and exclusively use the power cord.
Speaking of the power cord, it exits on the right side, so it may cause some interference with right handed mouse use.
The video card and processor are on the low end and not up to gaming standards, although it is more than adequate for (non HD) multimedia and business applications. HD video plays slower than the sound and therefore is not in sync. No BIOS access that I am aware of. I wasn't able to install XP over Vista.
Except for the Vista Operating System, most of the included software is trial-ware. Some older drivers and utility software will not work with the 64bit Vista.
Conclusion:
In short, this is a good value for a desktop PC replacement for the business traveler.
