Description Once upon a time, a dashing young British Army officer and a lovely student nurse fell deeply, magically in love. Then he was shipped off to Korea and they never heard from one another. Forty years later, fate brings them together again... with hilarious results. In this collection of classic episodes, Jean has issues with her new neighbors, Lionel deals with his hearing loss, and Judith and Sandy both have memorable encounters with their suitors.

The best of this series. November 25, 2007 I think this wraps up a nice series with the happy marriage of two couples that had ongoing romances. It always facinates me the way the English language is spoken by proper Brits. Very enjoyable to watch.
Hilarious April 11, 2007 I found the complete series 1 thru 9 very funny. Love the mannerisms and story lines are true to life. Too bad its over they leave you wanting more
Great programs November 10, 2006 Superb acting and writing. Most of today's TV programs are not worth watching once, As Time Goes By is enjoyable watching many times. Buy the entire series and enjoy,
One of the best of the Brit series November 3, 2006 This is the last of the ATGB series and I truly hate to see it end. It was one of the best comedy series ever produced by the BBC and is so classy that, in the light of the usual "racy" Brit comedy fare, I am amazed that it ever got produced at all. The fact that the series became so truly popular on both sides of the Atlantic is a tribute to viewer's good taste and (dare I say?) boredom with raunchy TV shows. The laughs are gentle, though often sophisticated without being off-color, and the characters are superbly portrayed by excellent actors. Of course, the star is the incomparable Judi but the supporting cast, especially the late, lamented Frank Middlemass as Rocky, are wonderful also. I am just grateful that it is available to view over and over - I call it my "Brit Comfort Comedy."

Series 7
Episode 1 - Jean thinks that Lionel is going deaf and Lionel thinks Jean's sight is failing. Neither one wants to admit their own problem.
Episode 2 - Jean receives a message from an old romantic flame. When she meets up with him he has not only lost is dashing figure but is a drunk.
Episode 3 - The new neighbors arrive and Jean tries to find out everything about them. But all regret meeting them.
Episode 4 - The entire gang goes to the country. When the locals are up in arms over a new bypass, Jean decides to head up the protest committee before she finds out what side the town is on.
Episode 5 - Stephen and Penny are coming for another visit. But when Penny arrives first, Jean and Lionel discover Penny and Stephen are having a tiff. (And as expected a stupid one).
Episode 6 - Jean gets the entire gang including Rocky and Madge, to help out with an event for the senior citizens.
Episode 7 - When the new neigbors vacate, Judith thinks that Alister should buy it. But things change when Alister wants more of a commitment then Judith is expecting.
