Amazon.com Every series of British sitcom As Time Goes By is an astonishing pleasure. Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer star as Jean and Lionel, two long-ago sweethearts who fell out of touch during the Korean War, then--due to a chance re-meeting--rekindled their romance in their late middle age. Series 6 mostly revolves around Jean's reluctantly retiring from her business, along with the stumbling romance of her daughter Judith (Moira Brooks) and their friend Alistair (Philip Bretherton, particularly strong this series). The plots of the show are often gossamer-thin--one entire episode revolves around circumventing the nosiness of Jean's sister--but it doesn't matter. The rapport between Dench and Palmer holds a treasure trove of alternating comfort and prickliness. It only takes a half-finished sentence and a disgruntled look to be screamingly funny. They're as attuned to each other as dancers; their waltz through As Time Goes By is a pleasure to behold. --Bret Fetzer

As Time Goes By April 2, 2007 A long running and well liked Brit com series. One of my 5 favorites.
Humorous March 9, 2007 An excelent series. It's a must have! The laughs keep coming every time I watch it.
The War Museum Episode, is the last one in Series 6. March 16, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been attempting to find out which series (season) has the eposide, which I've just learned from the other reviewer, is called The War Museum episode. Apparently it is episode seven, which closes Series Six. I have purchased the series 8+9 (together, and including the You Must Remember This, one hour special, 2000 and 2002) plus I have also purchased the Reunion Specials (two hours, 2005), and am pleased as punch. Finally knowing which has the War Museum Episode, I will buy the Series 6. For sure, I'll wear out the DVDs of however many seasons which I do purchase, but I will not be purchasing the whole show.
Jean Retires and Judy finds a new beau October 20, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Series 6 - Jean and Lionel's story continues.
Episode 1 - Sandy is being stalked and Lionel decides he is going to do something about it. But Jean is having none of that and goes to Alister.
Episode 2 - Lionel is tired of Jean working (at the office and at home). Judy and Sandy are tired of Jean duplicating their work. While on the love front, Alister does not get the answer he expects from Judy.
Episode 3 - Lionel is pressuring Jean to retiring. This is the wrong time for a visit from he ex inlaws, Penny and Stephen.
Episode 4 - Mrs Bale (the country house housekeeper) is acting strange (well stranger than normal). Jean is determined to find out why.
Episode 5 - Judith's new boyfriend surprises Jean and Lionel on their return home. Alister has a surprise announcement for the gang, he's getting married! But Lionel sees that he is still in love with Judith.
Episode 6 - The neighbors are selling the house and Penny wants to buy it.
Episode 7 - Jean wants some excitement in her life and tells Lionel to surprise her.
As Time Goes By - Complete Series 6 October 6, 2005 I have the whole series now and I love all the shows - the only thing I have ever found lacking was extras. Series 9 does have some good ones with interviews with 3 of the cast members.
