FIRST TIME I WATCHED THE FIRST MATRIX FROM THIS SERIES OF DVD'S, THE MOVIE SKIPPED THROUGHOUT 2 SCENES EVEN WHEN I BOUGHT IT NEW.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? ITS LIKE A BOOTLEG GONE BAD...WAS TRYING TO SHOW GIRLFRIEND HOW GOOD THIS TRILOGY IS, BUT KIND OF HARD WHEN 1 SKIPPING SCENE TAKES THREE HOURS.

4 out of 5 stars 5 for set, 4 for movies   December 27, 2008

I don't notice the transfer things. The movies play as they should , and they look awesome, and they're not scratchy. I don't get what the others are complaining about.

The Matrix- 5/5, best out of the series. Most compelling plot of the 3 (or 4, if you include Animatrix), and is the most interesting.

The Matrix Reloaded- 3/5- The movie had more action than it did substance, and depth stoy-wise. It looked nice, but the movie itself was a little short on story. It's worth watching if you want eye candy. Some things are really unexplained and weird though. About 30 minutes in there's an underground rave in the real world, and it doesn't make sense how they got the instruments, clothes, and technology. The clothes was the weirdest part. They were all modern, and perfect, unshredded. You'd think after thousands of years underground, they'd lose the time to make decent clothing when they're in the middle of a war.

The Matrix Revolutions- 4/5 A pretty good ending to a great story. Makes up for #2, but still not as good as #1

The Animatrix- Not Rating- Some of it was interesting, some of it was dull. The animation is nice I guess. It's nothing amazing like Triplets of Belleville.

Overall this is a great set, because it is cheap, and you get the movies in good standard definition.

4 out of 5 stars gift   December 19, 2008
this is a gift I was pleased with the ease of purchase and the fact that all the movies are packaged together

1 out of 5 stars Yep....I was suckered   December 4, 2008

When Amazon listed a MATRIX with a 2007 release date in a keepcase I thought for sure Warners would use the 2004 remaster. Seemed logical-no new content-why go to the work of changing the cover-even the 2007-just print the cover in a keepcase, Theye even gave it a new Cat # Why? This is the same old 1999 transfer
I mean, why sit on it. WRONG-and they took pains to hide this-they know they are guilty

When you stick this in your computer, and the disc icon mounts on the desktop, usually you can open it and see 2 Folders:
AUDIO_TS ,VIDEO_TS and inside .vob, ifo bup files WITH CREATION DATES.
Not this one-BLANK! huh...never seen this before-I use this as a guide as to when a transfer-NOT a pressing batch date, was done. This issue came out a month ago-and you say they still use the 1999 transfer-sad
Bright idea-Right clicked on "Get info" (mac) whoo boy- FILE CREATED August 2, 1999

I thought it looked dismal while viewing-wondering what the raving of the 2004 remaster was out

The disc and boxcover had differing Cat #s the box listed 2007-no location of manufacture; (thought this was law)
The label had no dates, or "made in" just the unmatching cat #
I hold it up to the light-the inner ring reads "Made in Canada"
I was enraged. Legally of course caveat emptor-still WARNER usually has high integrity about these things-a 3 year old remaster should have been on this disc. After all, im sure yet another remaster will be done for BR-and yet another SDVD issue. or maybe not
